Hi! I’m Deanna - a licensed Speech Language Pathologist, Certified Dyslexia Interventionist, and Special Education teacher!

As a former Broward public school teacher, I worked at schools across the district, including Silver Ridge, Horizon, and Winston Park Elementary. At each school, I saw firsthand how children slip through the cracks.

That’s why I started Sunshine Academy at Sunshine Literacy.

I know how to teach in a way that works. My team of specialists are trained using research-based practices to teach reading, math, and content areas.

Meet the Teachers

Carly Robinson, M.S.

Certified Teacher - Elementary Education, ESOL, Reading

Hello! My name is Mrs. Carly. I have 13 years of teaching experience, including four years as a reading interventionist and one year as a reading coach. I have taught all elementary grade levels, mentored beginning teachers, and hold a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also ESOL certified and reading endorsed.

My passion is helping students grow, build confidence, and discover their love of learning. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students who once struggled with reading become confident, successful readers. Seeing those lightbulb moments and celebrating each student’s progress is what makes teaching so special to me!

Beyond the classroom, I love spending time with my family, playdates with friends, Peloton, and enjoying the outdoors. I also enjoy relaxing with a good book or watching reruns of Friends and The Office!

Katie Bradley, M.S.

Hi, my name is Katie! I’m a certified teacher with a master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education. Over the past six years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching in Broward County Schools as well as at a private school, working in both autism clusters and general education classrooms. With a background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), I’ve been able to support students in both classroom and clinical settings. I’m passionate about finding creative, fun, and effective ways to help students learn, grow, and build confidence—no matter the challenges they face. Nothing brings me more joy than watching a student overcome obstacles and celebrating their successes!

Beyond the classroom, my greatest joy is being a mommy to my precious three boys. When I’m not teaching, you’ll often find me going on adventures with them, enjoying outdoor activities with my husband and family, or spending time writing and researching topics I’m passionate about.

Above all, I believe in creating a nurturing and supportive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and capable of success. Just as I treasure guiding my own son through life’s little discoveries, I am deeply committed to helping my students grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and celebrate their unique strengths both inside and outside the classroom.
