A few ideas: keep reading time short but consistent, even 10 to 15 minutes a day; read out loud together as a holiday tradition, which counts and builds connection at the same time; bring books along when you travel; and give yourself permission to lighten up other subjects while keeping reading steady.
The goal isn’t to do everything. It’s to protect the one habit that’s hardest to rebuild once it’s gone.
